Mortal Kombat Legacy II: An Exciting Cliffhanger Ending

Date of Release (DVD/Blu – ray): October 14th 2014

Director: Kevin Tancharoen.

Distributed by Warner Bros.

Mortal Kombat Legacy is a superb web series. It’s interesting, unique, it offers a great quality. It’s a lot of action and a great fun. All that blended with magnificent costumes and great effects. It’s almost like a 90 minutes long movie. At least, it gives you that feeling. It consists of 10 minute long episodes. You can watch it online and it’s good that way but be aware that it’s even better on Blu – Ray. Watching it on a big screen HDTV gives you a whole new experience. Kevin Tancharoen did a good job with this web series. Its online success speaks for itself.

Tancharoen’s Legacy continues the story of the original Mortal Kombat film franchise and gives you more. It’s more realistic. There are characters from the game and the movies. There is the original story. It all makes a great and adventurous trip. It’s boat real to the game and real to the movies. Of course, there are supernatural elements but even that parts have a real feel. That’s a great thing about the Legacy.

What Is It About?

Mortal Kombat Legacy showed us the back story and the beginnings. The second series offers a different journey. Mortal Kombat Legacy II is mainly about the fighting. It’s about the tournament itself. It shows us preparing and training for the tournament and the fighting, of course. It’s what we came for. There’s a lot of fast and furious action. The battles are so entertaining! It offers a lot one – on – one fights but it’s not rare to see those one become two – on – one battles. You may be surprised with the number of dialogues and the interesting aspects of the story. It’s not just a pure action. It’s more than that but it’s mixed very well and won’t leave anyone disappointed. Every true Mortal Kombat fan would be satisfied with the Legacy II.

The Cliffhanger

It’s safe to say there will probably be a Legacy III. Actually, we’re pretty certain there’ll be a third series. With the way Legacy II ended it’s more than obvious. We can’t wait to see the new one and how it will be done. We won’t give you spoilers but be sure the ending will leave you hanging and wanting more.

The Only Flaw

It’s not fair to call it a flaw, but if we’re doing a review it should be mentioned. We already said that the episodes are greatly done and they almost look like a 90 minute long movie. But that’s it. They almost look like that. Each of the episodes is a 10 minute long and there’s something missing with them transitioning from one to another. There’s no smooth transition and there should have been. Of course, there is a story and every episode continuous the story from the previous one. But it’s not natural as it should have been. Other than that, Legacy II is a magnificent experience.

Mortal Kombat: Conquest – TV Series Review

Probably every Mortal Kombat fan has seen TNT 1999 TV series Mortal Kombat: Conquest. It was a great show for old fans but also brought in some new ones. Unfortunately, the series was cancelled after only one season. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching it as a lot of you, I’m sure. Let’s remind ourselves of this great TV series and its characters.

The Plot

Mortal Kombat: Conquest is set centuries before the present Mortal Kombat mythology. The main characters are Kung Lao, Siro, and Taja. Outworld’s wizard Shang Tsung is defeated by Kung Lao in the tournament called Mortal Kombat and that way, the world is saved from the despicable Outworlds’s ruler Shao Kahn. Of course, that isn’t the end. Instead of having a peaceful life with his lovely Jen, Kung Lao needs to fight Shao Khan again. Defeat in the tournament didn’t stop him. He is still eager to conquer Earth And you can guess, King Lao is the one to stop him from doing that. He will have the help from his mentor Raiden (God of Thunder and Earth realm’s protector).

Shao Kahn is constantly trying to kill Kung Lao, making all kinds of schemes. Also, Shang Tsung made his mission to have Kung Lao killed. That makes a lot of trouble for our hero and his friends.

The Main Characters

The Great Kung Lao: The role of the great warrior went to actor Paolo Montalban. This character is a monk who won the last Mortal Kombat tournament. By wining the tournament over Shang Tsung, he saved the Earth realm.

Siro: Starring Daniel Berhhardt, Siro is a former Baron Reyland’s bodyguard who’s now helping Kung Lao training fighters for the next tournament.

Taja: This character is a friend of Kung Lao and Siro. She was a thief caught stealing from Baron Reyland. As a punishment for her crime, she became Baron Reyland’s servant. After his death, she remained at the trading post. She’s helping Kung Lao in his fight against the villains. Taja is portrayed by Kristanna Loken.

Shang Tsung: This evil wizard fought for Shao Kahn in the Mortal Kombat tournament. He had lost the fight and as a punishment was sent to the cobalt mines by Shao Kahn. His mission is to revenge the defeat and kill Kung Lao. Actor Bruce Locke played Shang Tsung.

Raiden: God of Thunder and protector of the Earth Realm. Because he is a god, he cannot fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament but he uses his wisdom and knowledge to guide Kung Lao and his friends. He is Kung Lao’s mentor. Raiden was portrayed by Jeffrey Meek.

Other Characters

Some characters were invented for the TV series. They weren’t originally in the game but they adapted very well. Some of them are the following.

Mortal Kombat 4 – Game Review

Released in the ‘90s, Mortal Kombat 4 has become a legend when it comes to fighting games. Making a 3D fighting game was a big deal back then. Creators of Mortal Kombat 4 succeeded in making a great 3D game which made a MK4 a real shark amongst other fighting games.

Creators of Mortal Kombat 4 added some new interesting characters (Kai, Quan Chi Reiko etc.) to the fourth series. That, combined with the outstanding graphics for that time, made its glorious way to the fans and critics.

The story of MK4 is about Raiden and earthly mortals trying to fight Shinnok. After Shao Khan got defeated, Shinnok rised and started to make new problems for mortals. It’s mainly about players fighting the opponent and getting to higher level until the final stage where they compete against Shinnok.

As mentioned before, Mortal Kombat 4 introduced us to some new characters. Some of them are Kai and Quan Chi Reiko. Those new characters fitted really well. Also, some of our favorite old characters remained in the game. The fourth series included Raide, Sonya, Liu Kang and some others. Beside new characters, change also came with a weapon system. In the MK4 every character is programmed to handle a different kind of weapon. That can help you if you’re against a tough opponent.

MK4 also brought a little bit of mystery into the game. Creators added hidden characters. If you want to play those characters, you need to unlock them with a code. Some of them are Goro and Noob Saibot.

Gameplay Modes

Mortal Kombat 4 offers different gameplay modes. Some of those include a practice mode, a tag-teamed styled battle mode, tournament mode and three styles of endurance fights. The most difficult is the endurance fighting. It challenges you to fight to death without recovering your blood.

The game has a “2.5D” tag and is sometimes described as having 2D gameplay. It has three dimensional graphics on which the two dimensional frame rates of movement and animations are imposed.

The sound is big and important part of Mortal Kombat 4. You can hear cries and screams sounding very live and real. Also, the weapons sounds are pretty amazing.

Music is a perfect fit with the game. Nicely composed tracks are adjusted perfectly. It helps player to feel the game more.

Well, if you are a Mortal Kombat fan, you probably played the game numerous times. For those of you who haven’t tried, you definitely should correct that immediately. Some gamers (Mortal Kombat true and biggest fans) will argue this is the greatest fighting game ever. Other may say that it’s just an arcade game. We may all agree this is a great 3D game. Keep in mind it was one of the pioneers of its time. It should add some extra value. If you haven’t tried it, you should and if you loved playing it in the ‘90s, refresh your memory. The journey down the memory lane will be worth your time. We guarantee.

The Best Mobile Fighting Games to Play in 2017!

When it comes to consoles, the market is generally rich with fighting games. There are all kinds of different brawlers. From 2-D anime fighters with special attacks and weapons to 3-D fighting games that tend to stick to their two-dimensional mechanics. Games like Street Fighter, The King of Fighters and Mortal Kombat have seen more than a couple of releases over the past couple of years.

The computers are no exception either either. Steam has numerous brawling games as well. Mortal Kombat has been present on computers for what seems to be forever now. Street Fighter and other similar anime fighting games are not strangers either. Recently, we’ve even got a first ever in history Tekken game release for Steam! Together with Dead or Alive they enrich the 3-D fighting games library of this platform.

This is absolutely great news and it is good to know that fighting games are not only remaining popular but that they are expanding as well! But, this is only the case for computers and consoles. Undoubtedly, many of you would ask “what else is there besides these two.
If you were to ask this question a couple of fears back, pretty much no one would realize what you are aiming at.

The mobile gaming of course. Although not as big as its competitors, mobile gaming is the fastest growing platform ever. Yes, the majority of the games they are meant for children and casual players, but let us not exclude the possibilities the platform just because of its targeted demographics. Over the years, mobile gaming has seen some pretty cool fighting games. If you are a fan of these kinds of games, let’s introduce you to some of the best mobile fighting games to play in 2017!

Shadow Fight 2

Most websites like to do the countdown thing from worst to best title when they are talking about games. Although it could be interesting to do things that way, it’s not going to be the case here. Shadow Fight 2 is not the first on the list because it’s the worst game. Quite the contrary, this is probably the one that I personally find to be the most interesting.

If you are the type of player to prefer situational combos over pure aggression, this is the game for you. I would even say that it’s similar to Tekken games with the way it handles moves.

In Shadow Fight 2 you are to use a specific move from the long list of available moves at a specific time if you are to hit and damage your opponent. Depending on your stance, position and the direction that you are facing/moving, your attacks will be different.

The game has a lot of moves to learn, upgrades to unlock and generally a lot of character progress and customization to offer you. The only problem with this game is that it will not allow you to play it for as long as you want. It is a free to play game and these games like to do this.

If you really like the game, you can always spend some money on energy or, if you can’t afford such a tansaction, use the online generator for free energy as well as for other free resources and keep playing for as long as you like!

Injustrice 2

The mobile version of this game is truly something else. Unlike the first one (which was rather good as it was), the second installment tries to distinguish characters from one another. Although the first game was good and everything, it was most definitely lacking. The characters felt to similar and alike to one another.

With the introduction of customization, weapons and armor, all of this is about the change. Injustice  2 not only plays good but also looks amazing. It is rather easy to get into and does a good job of introducing the player to the games simple but enjoyable mechanics.
Compared to the previous game, this one would be a more casual pick focusing primarily on fancy visuals and flashy combos rather than gameplay depth and complexity.

Still, a very good game and a very good choice for everyone looking to pass some time on their tablet or phone. Oh and, if you’re torn between this game and similar titles like Mortal Kombat X, I would suggest you go for this one instead. Compared to it, other similar games feel like prototypes.

Street Fighter 4

What would a fighting games list be without some Street Fighter? Incomplete probably.

Street fighter is pretty much the one game that everyone had played at some point in their life. It was widespread on arcade, it made its way to consoles and it was made for computers and Steam a long time ago. It’s no wonder that we’ve got this game on phones and tablets as well.

Street Fighter 4 can be played on Android as well as iOS powered phones and tablets. The tricky part is getting the app. You might have to do some research or look for on external download source since CAPCOM made it particularly tricky to get this game. Almost like they didn’t want it to sell for some reason…

On top of that, is easy to download copies and even emulate old Street Fighter games which are just as good as new ones. This is one of the fighting game series that hasn’t really changed much other than in its appearance. If you are a nostalgic kind, you can easily find Street Fighter 2 and similar games from its era available for Android and iphones.

Injustice: Gods Among Us – Fighting Game Review

Injustice: Gods Among Us – Fighting Game Review

Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U

Release Date: April 26, 2013

Developer: Netherrealm Studio

Genre: Fighting

Injustice: Gods Among Us is an interesting and pretty unique fighting game. It’s not for every one, we’ll say that but if you try it, it’ll take you to unexpected adventure. Let’s just say it’s a mixture of numerous comic book heroes. Not just any heroes, some of the greatest heroes. Imagine Superman, Caped Crusader versus Green Lantern, Joker or Raven Roth all in the same game. It’s an unusual but exciting journey.

Plot is very interesting and surprising. You certainly wouldn’t expect to see Joker tricking Superman into killing Lois Lane. Of course, he’s not aware that he killed Lois Lane. Joker is smart. He made him believe he’s fighting his old enemy Doomsday. The darkest moment is probably the fact Lois was pregnant with his child. Pretty cold, isn’t it?

A few years later, Superman has conquered the world. Green Lantern is fighting alongside Sinestro. Raven Roth had fallen for her father’s evilness and Cyborg is using all his skills for wicked things. It’s almost over until some real heroes come into picture.

We must mention that plot is kind of silly sometimes. Maybe it’s not the right choice of words but it has some pretty ridiculous parts. For example, sometimes there’s no much balance between enemies in the battle. Imagine Superman fighting against Catwoman, regardless Kryptonian nanotechnology pills (see?). It’s hard to avoid the balance issue there. Also, you will probably get beaten by Aquaman on every occasion when you meet online.

Plot is told through several characters – focused chapters. It may be annoying and tiresome from time to time but also extraordinary. There are smaller interactions between both versions of great characters.

What happens when some of the biggest world’s heroes meet in a battle? A spectacle happens. It’s the magnificent spectacle. We don’t even need to mention how great battles get to be. It’s titan against titan fights. The whole Earth shakes when the battle begins.

Sound and Animation

The sound is at high level on the scale. It’s very important part of every game and developers have done a great job in this one. Animation is also delightful. Every important move is followed by splendid animation and sound. It makes you being more interested in using different skills and moves.

The game is special in that way that every player, never mind his experience and skills, always hopes he will win. No matter what, you’ll feel as you’re on step away from glorious victory.

Characters That We Want to See in Mortal Kombat XI

Here is a list of characters whose comeback we would like to see in Mortal Kombat XI. We included only characters that didn’t appear in Mortal Kombat X or Mortal Kombat 2011. Those who appear as DLC and have nothing to do with a story can also have a spot on the list. We omitted characters that have impact on the story.

Be aware of spoiler alert if you haven’t played every Mortal Kombat game.

First Appearance: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Last Appearance: Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

Until the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Blaze wasn’t much of an interesting character. He was more like a joke, someone to fulfill the background in the fighting pit in Mortal Kombat 2. Blaze was created by the Edenian god Argus and his wife. It was a plan for Argus’ sons to involve Blaze in Mortal Kombat. The winner would become the next god of Edenia. Until that, Blaze was wandering the realms. He found himself attacked by deceased Onaga’s warriors in Underworld. They made him look after Onaga’s egg until his resurrection.

 First Appearance: Mortal Kombat: Deception
Last Appearance: Mortal Kombat X Comic Series

Havic is probably the most popular and very playable character that made appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deception. He also plays an important part in the comic series. Unfortunately, he gets killed but we hope there is place for his resurrection. We miss his great design and story.

Li Mei

First Appearance: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Last Appearance: Mortal Kombat X (cut scenes only)

Li Mei was a very playable character. She first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance when she fought for her people. She decided to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament in order to free people from her village. They were conquered and enslaved by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Instead of gaining freedom for her fellow villagers; she was betrayed by the two wizards. They stole her soul and put it in one of Onaga’s soldiers. She was rescued by Bo’ Rai Cho.

 First Appearance: Mortal Kombat: Deception
Last Appearance: Mortal Kombat 2011 (cut scenes only)

Before he was killed by Shang Tsung, Onaga was the Emperor of Outworld for hundreds of years. Yet, death wasn’t the end for Onaga. With the help of his loyal warriors, he had left the dragon egg which should have helped him to regain strength through a host body. His plan didn’t work thanks to Nightwolf who bound his soul to the NetherRealm.

We’re hoping Onaga will come back. There is a possibility and a way to make it work. It may come to the war between EarthRealm, Outworld, and the NetherRealm and Dragon King’s knowledge will definitely be of help if that happens.

First Appearance: Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
Last Appearance: Mortal Kombat X (cut scenes only)

Sareena is the only one of three demon sisters who was spared by Sub – Zero. She made her life mission to help stopping Quan Chi.

It would be nice to see Sareena back, especially with the war between NetherRealm and EarthRealm going on. She could help Raiden and Sonya Blade.
